Beijing Museum of Ancient Architecture

The Beijing Museum of Ancient Architecture is located in Xiannongtan, the Altar of the God of Agriculture. It is China's first museum specializing in the collection, study and display of China's ancient architectural technology, art, and developmental history. The museum was established on September 25th, 1991. Architecture serves as a carrier of the development of human civilization and records the achievements of every field of human society. Architecture marks the contributions that a people have made to the world.

With its unique style and long history, Chinese ancient architecture has become a glorious chapter in the history of world architecture. The museum uses a large number of charts, pictures, real items and exquisite models to explain China's architectural tradition in a thorough and systematic way, from the primitive era when people built shabby thatched cottages to the high standards of the Ming and Qing Dynasties when people built magnificent cities according to in strict patterns. As a result, the museum shows the remarkable creativity of the working people. Visitors are impressed by the history and brilliant achievements of the Chinese traditional architecture.
